Glass Art by Andy Gregorich.
Andy Gregorich started blowing glass in Minneapolis, MN in 1999.
He has since owned a studio in Hibbing, MN and now at his home in Rice Lake, WI.
His attention to detail and infatuation with the mechanical aspects of glassblowing
are apparent in every piece he creates. His use of color, dichro, and patterns make his pieces highly collectable.
He has studied with Brian King, Christopher Rice, and Steve Sizelove. All these influences make his pieces unique.
He has instructed glass blowing through his personal studio since 2001.

This 2001 acrylic painting on cardboard is defined by the remarkable violence of its brush strokes, which recall the kinetic force of Jack the Ripper with their razor-sharp slashes and blade-like shredding effect. These kinetic linear forms combine to create a grotesque portrait of an imposing man in a blue blazer and orange tie, dried white mounds of paint forming his monstrous teeth."

Many of Jeff's works are created in direct response to events happening in the world today. Even though his style is 'naive' his work is a raw expression of the collective psyche, representing the feelings of those who abhor the atrocities of war and terrorism. While many painters give us a sugar coated reflection of the world Jeff Hughart paints straight from the heart confronting topics that most contemporary artist's shy away from. There is a delightful wry humour that runs through Jeff's work when he is exploring themes such as 'celebrity' and 'media'.
